Several bullets bombarded a Macon grocery store, wounding a 19-year-old man early Friday.

Just before 12:30 a.m., Michael Hardy was shot in the right hip as he was walking out of MM Gas & Food Mart, also known as the old Young’s Grocery at 2760 Montpelier Ave., according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The shots came from across the street, but the shooter or shooters got away.

Store manager Rajesh Kumar said none of the shots hit the building, although there are bullet holes from prior shootings, he said.

“Everybody’s got guns,” he said.

Hardy is in stable condition at the hospital, the release said.
