Bibb deputies, DEA seize $466,000 in cocaine during Macon drug raid

Authorities seized an estimated $466,000 worth of cocaine Thursday while serving a search warrant at a home in the 400 block of East Buford Road in Macon about 8 a.m., according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Investigators also seized marijuana, prescription pills, cash, a .22-caliber revolver and drug paraphernalia including bags and scales, according to the release.

Javares Jovan Simmons, 35, and Kerry Dewayne Walker Jr., 24, both of Macon, were charged with trafficking cocaine. Simmons additionally is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both men are being held at the county jail without bond.

Members of the sheriff’s office Special Investigations Unit, SWAT Team and Gang Unit participated in the raid with members of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
