Deputies on Friday arrested a man allegedly responsible for the death of his mother, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

John Lyons O’Connor, 40, was arrested on murder charges at a residence on Woodland Drive after BSO and the U.S. Marshals Service conducted a search and arrest warrant Friday. His case is connected with the death of his mother, Mary Louise Montgomery O’Connor, 80, who died on July 1, according to BSO.

“Through the course of the death investigation, an autopsy was performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation,” BSO said in the news release. “It was determined that the death of Mary O’Connor was a homicide. This was in connection with injuries sustained from a domestic disturbance incident that occurred on June 18 …”

O’Connor is being held without bond in the Bibb County Jail.
