A former Bibb County deputy allegedly received $5,000 in wages he didn’t earn
A former deputy with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office allegedly obtained thousands of dollars in wages he did not work for, according to court records.
Garrison Thomas Page was indicted Monday, accused of falsifying his payroll entries and obtaining over $5,000 in hours he did not work from January to September 2024, court records show.
He was charged with one count of violation of oath by a public officer, one count of making a false statement in government matters, one count of theft by deception and one count of computer theft.
Page faces between one and five years of prison time if he’s convicted of violating his oath as a public officer. He will also face between one and five years in prison, as well as a $1,000 fine, if he’s convicted of making false statements in government matters. His theft by deception charges will carry a fine of less than $1,000, jail time or probation. If convicted of his computer theft charge, he will face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.
