More than a dozen firearms and drugs like cocaine and fentanyl were seized by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, resulting in the arrests of dozens of people, according to a BCSO news release Tuesday.

BCSO launched “Operation Safe Streets” as a result of statistics that “indicated a pattern of increased shots fired incidents within high crime areas as well as ongoing loitering at convenience stores and commercial properties linked to criminal activity,” the agency said in Tuesday’s news release.

“Through independent investigations, an overlap was observed in drug activity, firearm possession and violent offenders with active warrants,” deputies said.

Over the past 90 days, BCSO worked alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Marshals and Georgia State Patrol to conduct search warrants, arrest warrants and traffic enforcement.

The operation led to 26 firearms, seven pounds of marijuana, 4.6 ounces of cocaine, 13 grams of methamphetamine and 12 grams of fentanyl being seized, the news release said.

The operation also led to the arrest of 41 individuals, including two minors who both face aggravated assault charges. One of the minors also was charged with possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm under the age of 18; the other faced an additional armed robbery charge.

Lorenzo Davis was the only one of the 41 individuals to be charged with murder. He also faces firearm possession during the commission of a felony and aggravated assault charges.

Jayce Burrell, Normal Coleman, Ricky Johnson, William Earl Lewis, Javon Granville, Quanteria Ette, Adrian Wilburn, Walten Nesbitt, Larry Clark and Chaz Rozier face aggravated assault charges. Additionally, Ette and Wilburn face gun possession charges, Wilburn and Nesbitt face cruelty to children charges, and Clark faces stalking charges in Houston County.

Jermaine Adaryll Bronner Jr., Michael Bernard Dean, Brandon Jeremiah Holloway, Michaello Antonio James Sr., Omerion Willis, Dekese Blash, Deundre Scott, Kacey Chatfield, Adam McDuffie, James Riley and Kenyun Rivers face marijuana distribution charges and firearm possession charges.

Sheldone Beard, Tyshelton Beard, and Shelvonta Beard were charged with marijuana and controlled substance possession.

Daniel Dixon, JaKorri Jackson and Willie Howard were charged with possessing controlled substances and firearm possession during the commission of a felony. Dixon also faces an armed robbery charge.

Dashon Johnston and Chayanna Harden were charged with trafficking cocaine.

Maurice Antwan Lockett Jr. and Maurice Antwan Lockett Sr. were charged with possessing less than an ounce of marijuana and possessing controlled substances. Lockett Jr. faces an additional charge of driving under the influence of multiple substances.

Aareona Bonner faces an armed robbery charge.

Melvin Tremel Williams faces false imprisonment, kidnapping, aggravated assault, cruelty to children and probation violation charges.

Allanturvis Jaques Brown faces hit and run, traffic offenses and transfer of a firearm to a felon or first offender charges. Zyon Wiltavious James faces willful obstruction of law enforcement and criminal use of an article with an altered ID mark charges.

Timothy Narada Jones was charged with possession of controlled substances, while Courtney Williams was charged with possession of drug-related objects.

“These results are a direct reflection of the strong partnerships between local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and our shared commitment to reducing crime and violence,” Sheriff David Davis said in the news release. “Forty-one arrests and the seizure of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and 26 firearms represent a significant disruption to criminal networks that threaten the safety of our community.”
