A Warner Robins woman who shot another woman over a romantic relationship with a man was sentenced to prison time this week, Houston County District Attorney Eric Edwards said Wednesday.

Katlyn Cammile Green, 26, was convicted of aggravated assault on April 17 and sentenced to 15 years in prison Tuesday after jurors found her guilty of shooting another woman in front of the former Cru Nightclub on Highway 247 on the night of March 15, 2024. Both women were arguing over a romantic relationship with a man, according to the news release.

The argument took place in the nightclub’s parking lot as the club was closing for the night. Witnesses who testified at trial said “Green was waving a handgun around while this went on,” according to the news release.

“A fist fight broke out between the victim in this case and Green’s sister, at which point Green used her firearm to shoot the victim,” the news release said. “The victim was struck one time in the chest but … (she) survived the gunshot and testified at trial.”

Green’s sentence will be followed by five years of probation.

“What began as an argument in a crowded parking lot ended with a victim being shot in the chest, who is fortunate to still be alive today,” Edwards said. “Too often, minor personal conflicts are turning into life-altering acts of violence because individuals are willing to use firearms in moments of anger. That conduct places not only the intended victim at risk, but everyone else present in the area.”

Cru Nightclub closed after the Houston County District Attorney’s Office sued them for constant criminal activity. After the judge declared the club a public nuisance, the land was turned over to new ownership, according to previous Telegraph reporting. The location is now home to Mad Hatter Cafe and Confections, a whimsical cafe inspired by Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”
