Shooting in Macon leaves 24-year-old woman in critical condition

Deputies are investigating a shooting in Macon that left a woman in critical condition, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Sunday on the 1800 block of Crestview Drive, near Appling Middle School and Northeast High School, the sheriff’s office said. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a 24-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics took the victim to a local medical facility for treatment. She is in critical condition as of Monday, deputies said.

The incident is under investigation. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
