A man who previously faced identity theft charges in Forsyth now faces additional charges, a Friday news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said.

Quran Wauchope, 26, was arrested in Monroe County on identity fraud charges on Sept. 25, 2025, but was released from custody after posting bond, the news release said.

However, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office alleged that he continued committing fraud and was a suspect in another fraud case.

A “thorough investigation” led to deputies securing 27 warrants against Wauchope, “including charges of impersonating an officer, identity theft, financial card theft and financial card fraud,” the news release said.

Wauchope was being held at the Meriwether County Jail Friday on similar charges, the sheriff’s office said. Once released, he will be transported to Monroe County to face the additional charges.

The investigation is ongoing, and Wauchope may face additional charges. Deputies urge anyone with information to contact Inv. Matthew Posey at 478-994-7043.
