A suspect was arrested Monday, about four years after he allegedly shot a man to death at a Macon apartment complex, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Keonta Quintez Rouse, a 30-year-old Macon father, was found dead of “multiple gunshot wounds” around 1 p.m. May 19, 2022, outside Building 30 at River Park Apartment Homes at 720 Tidewater Circle, Coroner Leon Jones previously told The Telegraph.

Rouse, whose nickname was Black Moe, was released from prison two years before his death. He served about five years on a theft-by-receiving conviction from a case in 2010, court records showed.

Lorenzo Michael Davis, 32, was the second person arrested in connection to Rouse’s death.

The sheriff’s office and the US Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Davis around 9 a.m. Monday at a home in the 2000 block of Old Clinton Road, deputies said.

Davis was charged with two counts of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony. He also was arrested for terroristic threats related to a prior case, according to booking records.

The 32-year-old was being held without bond at the Bibb County Jail, according to a log of its detainees.

First suspect

The first suspect arrested in connection to Rouse’s death was taken into custody May 26, 2022, a week after the fatal shooting.

Brian Christopher Horton Jr., 27, was taken into custody at an apartment in the 2000 block of Merriwood Drive, according to deputies.

Horton was charged with murder and also served arrest warrants related to other cases.

The sheriff’s office still asked anyone with information on Rouse’s death to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
