Teen, 21-year-old found with gunshot wounds in Macon neighborhood, deputies say
A teenager and a 21-year-old were found with gunshot wounds in a south Macon neighborhood Saturday, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 21-year-old was reportedly shot in his car on the 2000 block of Mason Street, then ran to LOLO gas station at 2490 Pio Nono Avenue, about a half-mile from the shooting, for help, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Authorities received a 911 call around 6:30 p.m. reporting the shooting.
Deputies found the 21-year-old at the gas station “suffering from a gunshot wound,” the sheriff’s office said. An ambulance took him to a local hospital for treatment.
Deputies learned a 17-year-old was also shot and taken to a hospital via a personal vehicle, according to the news release.
Both victims were in stable condition, according to deputies.
The news release did not say where the teen was shot or if the victims were connected. The sheriff’s office did not immediately release other details.
The incident was being investigated as aggravated assault, deputies said. They urged anyone with tips to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
