Parents turn in teen suspect after woman killed in Macon, deputies say
Parents of a 15-year-old boy turned him in to law enforcement hours after he allegedly killed a 41-year-old woman in Macon, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.
The teenager was arrested Thursday night in connection to the death of 41-year-old India Norwood Davis, Capt. Linda Howard told The Telegraph.
“His parents turned him over to investigators,” Howard said.
The teen was charged with felony murder and armed robbery after Davis was found dead in her car with gunshot wounds around 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the 2100 block of Adams Avenue, deputies said.
The suspect was booked in the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center at 4164 Riggins Mill Road.
The sheriff’s office was still investigating the shooting and did not immediately provide other details.
The shooting happened around the same time local violence prevention advocates were meeting at City Hall to announce increased grant funding toward youth violence prevention.
The Telegraph does not name suspects younger than 18 years old.
