Teenager arrested, charged in Monday’s shooting of 25-year-old man in Macon
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in the shooting of a man Monday on Recreation Road, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force executed a search warrant at a house on the 2500 block of Millerfield Road just before noon on Tuesday, where they arrested the teen they say is connected Monday’s shooting , officials said.
The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 2200 block of Recreation Road, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies found a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, who was then taken by ambulance to a medical facility.
The suspect was taken to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center, where he faces an aggravated assault charge.
The victim is currently listed in critical but stable condition, according to Sgt. Christopher Williams of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident remains under investigation, with the suspect potentially facing additional charges. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available, the sheriff’s office said.
