Man in critical condition after being shot in Macon, sheriff’s office says

A 25-year-old man was in critical condition Monday night after being shot in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators were called to the 2200 block of Recreation Road just after 7:30 p.m. Monday evening for a report of a person shot, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

“Deputies discovered a twenty-five-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound,” the sheriff’s office said. “The victim was transported by ambulance to a medical facility. According to medical staff, the victim is currently listed in critical condition.”

The sheriff’s office said the incident was under investigation and more information would be provided as it became available. The shooting was being considered an aggravated assault.
