Teen critically injured in shooting at Macon gas station. Person of interest sought
A 17-year-old was in critical condition at a hospital Friday afternoon after being shot in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said in a news release that the shooting call came in at 3:40 p.m., and the incident was reported at the BP gas station in the 800 block of Shurling Drive. Responding officers found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound, and he was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
“According to medical staff, the victim is currently listed in critical condition,” the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office later released a photo of a “person of interest” in the case, and said the shooting happened inside the gas station. The photo was taken from surveillance video inside the store.
The incident was under investigation Friday.
