Two people were arrested and charged in a recent shooting at a residence on Old Gray Highway, the Jones County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Christopher Brown, 19, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested Dec. 18 on charges of aggravated assault and criminal use of an article with altered identification charges, according to jail records.

On Dec. 18, a “physical altercation” inside the Jones County home led to a fight outside the residence and gunshots were fired, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office.

One woman was injured by gunfire and transported to a local hospital for treatment, the sheriff’s office said.

Brown faces an additional reckless conduct charge, while the 17-year-old boy will also face theft by receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a person under 18 charges.

“This investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as the case progresses,” the Jones County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.
