Woman dies after being hit by pickup truck in Macon, deputies investigate

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly crash involving a female pedestrian that occurred Thursday evening, according to a press release.
Local law enforcement responded just before 6:40 p.m. to the 3900 block of Broadway in Macon after receiving a report of a person hit by a vehicle. Authorities said a 2006 Dodge Dakota hit a woman who was walking in the roadway while wearing dark clothing.
The victim was identified as Angela Clarice Hester, 49, of Warner Robins, Friday morning.
Paramedics transported Hester to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Authorities said the crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones said Hester’s family has been notified of the death, according to the press release.
