Bibb County deputies search for suspect after several break-ins at Macon hotel

Criminal investigators were still searching for a suspect allegedly connected to a string of car break-ins at a Macon hotel Monday, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.

A 911 call around 5 a.m. Monday reported “that six vehicles were broken in to at the Country Inn and Suites parking lot” at 3915 Arkwright Road, the sheriff’s office said. The hotel sits behind a shopping plaza near other hotels on the road.

Patrol deputies responded to the scene, and the BCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation.

An incident report describing deputies’ account of what happened was not available by Tuesday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies did not share if they identified a suspect.

A manager at the hotel Tuesday declined to comment on the situation.
