Daycare owner charged with child molestation in Milledgeville, investigators say

An elderly Milledgeville man who runs a child daycare was arrested last week after he allegedly molested a kid, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Seventy-eight-year-old Irvin Eugene Griffin and his wife run Griffin Group Home Day Care at 440 Underwood Road, GBI said, which is in a neighborhood off South Elbert Street.

Griffin was charged with child molestation, the GBI said in a news release.

He was arrested at his Milledgeville home and booked in the Baldwin County Jail.

The Milledgeville Police Department asked the GBI to start investigating the case on Nov. 5.

When the GBI completes the investigation, the case will be prosecuted by the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
