Macon officers investigate ‘circumstances’ of shooting that left teen injured

A 16-year-old was hospitalized in a shooting on Gray Highway over the weekend, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said in a news release that officers were called to the 900 block of Gray Highway Saturday evening in reference to a person shot.

“When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered a sixteen-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound,” the sheriff’s office said. “Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a medical facility for treatment. According to medical staff, the victim is listed to be in critical but stable condition.”

“The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation,” the sheriff’s office said.
