5 arrested, including kids, after shooting injures father in Milledgeville

Kids, a teenager and a young adult were arrested after a shooting and alleged attempted robbery injured a father last week in Milledgeville, the Milledgeville Police Department said.

At least three people shot at a vehicle that held a 27-year-old father and his 11-month-old infant around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 29, a Facebook post by the police department said. It reportedly happened in the 200 block of Pritchard Street.

“The vehicle was struck multiple times, and the victim sustained at least one gunshot wound,” officers said on Facebook. An apartment with people inside was also shot at nearby.

The injured 27-year-old drove to a family member’s home where 911 was called. Emergency medical services took him to a Macon hospital where he was treated and released, according to the police department.

Suspects face dozens of aggravated assault charges

Five young people were arrested after detectives investigated the shooting, police said.

Three minors, 18-year-old Kentavious Goodman and 21-year-old Kenihis Butts, faced several charges. There were no other suspects involved.

Goodman turned himself into police by Tuesday night, officers said.

All five suspects were each charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and seven counts of aggravated assault, police said.

Butts, Goodman and a minor were allegedly armed and charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
