3 people, including a teenager, die in Macon shooting. Victims identified
Three people are dead after a shooting in Macon Saturday night, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting was reported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office when a 911 caller said a 27-year-old man had been shot and taken to a local hospital by personal vehicle, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. The sheriff’s office responded to the scene of the shooting, in the 500 block of Williams Street, and found two more shooting victims: a 16-year-old and a 21-year-old.
The two shooting victims found on Williams Street were prounounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. The Bibb County Coroner’s Office identified the 16-year-old as Markell Bonner Jr., and the 21-year-old as Brandon Devonta Thomas.
The victim who was taken to a local hospital also died, the sheriff’s office said. He was identified as Quantayrias De’Monte Townsend.
Family members for all three victims were notified, the sheriff’s office said.
“The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. “Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.”
