Teen sent to prison for shooting a Warner Robins trick-or-treater on Halloween
A teenager was sentenced to prison Thursday after he shot and injured a person on Halloween in 2024 in Warner Robins, the Houston County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.
Hen’darius Jamal Wilson, 18, attempted to rob a person who was with a group of teenagers “out trick-or-treating on Vaughn Street in Warner Robins,” a news release from Houston County District Attorney Eric Edwards said.
“Halloween should be one of the safest and happiest nights of the year for our community’s children,” Edwards said.
Wilson shot the survivor multiple times, then “local good samaritans” helped him until law enforcement and emergency medical services arrived, Edwards said in the news release. Witnesses identified Wilson as the shooter.
The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Edwards said.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 10 years of probation, according to the district attorney’s office.
“There is absolutely no place for gunfire or violence on our streets while families are out trick-or-treating,” Edwards said. “The choice Mr. Wilson made that night could have easily cost a child their life.”
