Man dead in shooting in Fort Valley, coroner confirms. What we know

Three men were shot Thursday night in front of a Fort Valley establishment, resulting in the death of one person, Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks confirmed Friday.

The 911 call center received a call about a shooting at 6:51 p.m. Thursday at 104 East Church St., at an establishment called The Main Event, according to Rooks. Willy Mangham III, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:15 p.m.

One of the men injured was shot in the stomach. As of Friday, he is in stable condition, Rooks confirmed. The other man was shot in the hand.

It is unknown what led to the shooting. The Fort Valley Police Department has not responded to requests for comment before publication.

The FVPD and Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting, according to Rooks.
