Forsyth 3-year-old hospitalized after accidental shooting, investigators say

A 3-year-old child from Forsyth was hospitalized after accidentally shooting themself on Sunday, according to a Monday news release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The child and one of their parents arrived at the local hospital around 1 p.m. Sunday and said the child had accidentally shot themself. The child was flown to a hospital in Atlanta and was undergoing surgery, according to the release.

The Forsyth Police Department requested assistance from the GBI, the release said, and the agencies were investigating the incident jointly.
