A man was found dead in front of a Macon home Sunday morning, according to the Bibb County sheriff’s and coroner’s offices.
He had multiple gunshot wounds and did not live at the home, according to Coroner Leon Jones.
The homeowner reportedly found the man “unresponsive” just before 8 a.m. in the front yard in the 1800 block of Sussex Drive, near the intersection of Canterbury Road, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The victim, later identified as 30-year-old Aubrey Randall Williams, was pronounced dead by Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley around 8:30 a.m., Jones said.
Williams’ family was notified of his death by 11:30 a.m., deputies said.
It was unclear if a suspect was arrested by Monday morning.
Investigators were working to determine what led to the shooting. Anyone with related details was urged to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
