Two dead in Milledgeville murder-suicide, police say. Investigation underway.

Two people were killed in a murder-suicide Thursday morning in a home in Milledgeville, according to social media posts from the Milledgeville Police Department.

A preliminary investigation found that Tavious Antwon Spencer, 36, shot and killed Lashonda Lawrence, 38, in a home on Pritchard Street sometime between 7 a.m. and noon, authorities said. Spencer then died by suicide, police said.

Police arrived on scene around 3:30 p.m. after they received a report that two people had been found dead inside a home. The department said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The bodies were transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab in Macon. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call Detective Michael McLeroy at (478) 414-4090, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at (478) 742-2330.
