Man admits to trafficking, purchasing 13-year-old in Houston County
A man will serve 10 years in prison after admitting to purchasing a 13-year-old for sex in Houston County, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr said Thursday.
Noe Borromeo Hernandez pleaded guilty in front of Houston County Superior Court Judge Katherine Lumsden to one count of trafficking a person for sexual servitude, two counts of child molestation and one count of statutory rape on Aug. 7, court records show. He was arrested in November after a 13-year-old girl came forward and told law enforcement “she was sold for sex in Warner Robins,” according to Carr.
Hernandez was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison, with the following 15 years to be served on probation. He also “currently has a detainer placed upon him by (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and is expected to be deported following the service of his prison sentence,” according to Carr. Hernandez was born in Mexico, but lived in Kathleen.
“We’re grateful to have a partner in the White House who’s willing to work with us to secure the border and combat human trafficking in our state,” said Attorney General Chris Carr. “Together, we’re going after the criminal illegal aliens who prey on our children, and we’re saving lives as a result. It’s yet another example of why Georgia continues to lead the nation in this fight, and we’re not letting up anytime soon.”
Others charged in the case
Hernandez was charged alongside Emma-Lee Garcia, Brian Smith and Demaria Williams. Garcia was charged with five counts of trafficking a person for sexual servitude, as she was the person who allegedly sold the child and benefitted financially from it, according to court records.
Smith, an alleged customer of Garcia’s, was charged with two counts of trafficking a person for sexual servitude, one count of aggravated child molestation and one count of statutory rape, according to court records.
Garcia pleaded guilty on May 22 and was ordered to serve 18 years in prison, to be followed by 22 years of probation, court records show. Smith’s case is still pending. Williams’ case also is still pending. Williams was accused of one count of trafficking a person for sexual servitude and one count of statutory rape, according to Carr and court records.
