Man hospitalized after shooting in east Macon neighborhood, deputies say
A man was severely injured in a shooting in an east Macon neighborhood Friday evening, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.
A 911 caller reported a person was shot around 11:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Sparkle Avenue off Shurling Drive, a news release from the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies responded and found a 24-year-old man “suffering from a gunshot wound,” the news release said.
Paramedics took the victim to a medical facility, where he was listed in “critical but stable condition,” deputies said.
The alleged aggravated assault was still under investigation Monday morning, the sheriff’s office said.
