Man allegedly shot stepson, charged with murder in Macon, deputies say.
A man allegedly shot and killed his stepson Thursday night in east Macon, according to the Bibb County sheriff’s and coroner’s offices.
Deputies were told that a person was shot just after 11 p.m. at a house at 3345 Majestic Lane, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones and a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene and found 21-year-old Couri Woodford Jr. “suffering from a gunshot wound,” the BCSO said.
Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced Woodford dead about an hour later, the sheriff’s office said.
Woodford’s stepfather, 43-year-old Pierre Rodriguez Williams, was taken into custody, interviewed and charged with murder, deputies said. The sheriff’s office initially spelled Williams’ name wrong.
Anyone with information related to Woodford’s death was urged to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
