Masked armed men rob truck stop in Macon, deputies search for suspects

Two masked armed men robbed a truck stop and attempted to rob another site in Macon Tuesday, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspects reportedly robbed Love’s Truck Stop at 1190 Frank Amerson Parkway in south Macon around 4 a.m., a news release from the sheriff’s office said.

“The men demanded money from the register,” stole an undisclosed amount of money, then fled, deputies said.

Deputies did not know where they fled to or if they rode in a vehicle.

They reportedly also attempted to rob Delux Inn at 4565 Hartley Bridge Road, “but (were) unsuccessful,” deputies said.

One man wore all black with a hooded jacket over his head and a mask on his face, according to surveillance photos of the registers at the truck stop and hotel. Another man wore a blue hooded jacket over his head, gray pants and a mask on his face.
