Fort Valley police nab alleged shooter

A 20-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning by the Fort Valley Police Department less than 24 hours after he allegedly shot and robbed a resident at Indian Oaks Apartments.

Markes Alron Dassau, of Fort Valley, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, armed robbery and probation violation, for allegedly shooting and robbing 25-year-old Anthony D. McGhee about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release.

McGhee was shot in the upper torso and was listed in stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon.

The Middle Georgia Fugitive Squad and the Peach County Drug Squad helped locate Dassau, and the investigation is ongoing, according to the release.
