Milledgeville police say man wounded in suspected gang shooting

A man was shot twice Monday night in what Milledgeville police suspect is a gang related shooting.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired at Riverbend Apartments on E. McIntosh Street, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Witnesses said several men fired from a black Nissan Altima at a black Ford Crown Victoria.

A few minutes later, Oconee Regional Medical Center received a patient with gunshot wounds and called police.

The victim, who was driving the Crown Victoria, said the Altima had been following him for some time before the car pulled up beside him and bullets started flying.

Police estimate the man’s car was hit more than a dozen times.
