Fallout form the shooting

Mayor Lester Miller and Bibb County Sheriff David Davis decided to revoke the Midtown Bar’s temporary alcohol license on Tuesday, according to Chris Floore, chief communications officer of the county. The bar and restaurant had been scheduled to appear on the Macon-Bibb County Commission’s agenda Tuesday, as officials were expected to discuss whether the bar should get a more permanent alcohol license. That discussion was canceled after the incident.

“There will be no discussion on that, so if anybody’s here to speak on that behalf of being here on any decisions of that, can feel free to leave at any time,” Miller said in the first few minutes of a pre-commission meeting.

The sheriff recommended that the Midtown Bar’s alcohol license be revoked after the shooting along with the consideration of other incidents at the venue. The bar and grill had been cited for selling liquor without an active license and illegally selling alcohol to minors during an undercover operation, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
