A rapper based in Henry County admitted to possessing a loaded handgun at a Monroe hospital’s labor and delivery unit, federal prosecutors announced last week.

Terrell Searcy, 21, of McDonough, pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a machine gun in front of Judge Tilman E. “Tripp” Self on March 20. The charge stems from possessing a Glock 9 mm handgun with a loaded 30-round extended magazine, which is “capable of converting (the gun) to a fully automatic weapon,” prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Middle District of Georgia said.

Searcy raps under the alias Quez 2RR.

He will be sentenced in Athens on June 4, but it was not immediately known what sentence he would face as a result of his guilty plea.

Henry County is 56 miles north of Macon.

Gun stolen from Walton County

A nurse called in hospital security after they saw Searcy in a delivery room with a handgun at Piedmont Walton Hospital in August 2023. When security came in, Searcy admitted he had a handgun, which he put under a couch cushion. He gave the gun to security.

Hospital security noticed the gun had a full-auto sear pin attached to the slide, which could make the handgun function like a machine gun. It prompted hospital security to contact the Monroe Police Department, federal prosecutors said.

The police ran the serial number of the gun, which led them to find out that it had been reported stolen out of Walton County. He was then taken into custody.

Federal prosecutors said Searcy had showcased a pistol with an alleged machine gun conversion device in a music video, and had rapped about putting a switch on his Glock. In the music video, he is seen holding a pistol on his waistband with an alleged machine conversion device attached to the back.

He was indicted for possessing a machine gun in August 2024.

Law enforcement gave info to suspect

Investigators went through Searcy’s Instagram direct messages to find he had been talking with a female law enforcement officer with the Clayton County Police Department, and asked them to check whether he had any warrants for his arrest. The interactions occurred between January and March 2023, federal prosecutors said. The officer also shared information on an active homicide investigation where his friend was killed.

The officer later admitted to both of those allegations, federal prosecutors said.

Investigators searched Searcy’s home in February this year and found several guns, prosecutors said. He told investigators he slept with a Micro Draco gun under his bed and admitted that a gun found in the living room of the house was his.

Investigation then revealed that the Micro Draco in his possession was used in other crimes in Dekalb County. The Micro Draco was used in two incidents of a drive-by shooting in which four people, including two minors, were shot inside their homes.

“Each shooting occurred within just days of Searcy receiving information from the Clayton County police officer on the active ... homicide (investigation) where his friend was shot and killed,” federal prosecutors said.
