Fatal shooting leaves 1 dead in south Macon neighborhood, deputies say. What we know
A man was shot and killed outside of a south Macon home Thursday night, the Bibb County coroner and sheriff’s offices said.
Deputies responded to the house regarding a person shot around 10:30 p.m. at 3560 Flamingo Drive, in a neighborhood near Houston Avenue, according to Coroner Leon Jones.
Deputies found 31-year-old Devan Suwvon Williams “suffering from a gunshot wound in front of the home,” the sheriff’s office said.
Williams was taken to Atrium Health Navicent where medical staff pronounced him dead from “multiple gunshot wounds” about an hour after the shooting, Jones told The Telegraph.
Williams’ family was notified of his death, Jones said.
It was unclear if a suspect was arrested. The shooting was still under investigation around 8:30 a.m. Friday.
