Macon man indicted in girlfriend's 2014 stabbing death
Bibb County grand jurors voted to indict a Macon man Tuesday on allegations he fatally stabbed his girlfriend in November as her 3-year-old son slept in the same motel room.
Ali Lamont Tanner, 39, is charged with malice murder, felony murder and family violence-related aggravated assault in the Nov. 29 death of 27-year-old Shauntrice Michele Williams, according to an indictment filed in Bibb County Superior Court.
Tanner later admitted to investigators that he stabbed Williams in the chest, wrapped her body in a bedspread and threw her in a Dumpster outside Discovery Inn on Chambers Road.
Authorities found Williams' body at the Taylor County landfill days later.
Tanner, of Holt Avenue, has been held at the Bibb County jail since his Dec. 2 arrest, according to jail records.
