Armed teen on dirt bike injured in crash with a school bus in Warner Robins, cops say
A teenager on a dirt bike got into a crash with a Houston County school bus Tuesday morning, according to the Warner Robins Police Department.
The 14-year-old allegedly drove through a red light heading west on Wall Street, then crossed onto S. Davis Drive, where the bus was going north around 6:30 a.m., a news release from the police department said.
“The 14-year-old male rider suffered fractures to the face and extremities,” WRPD said. He was treated at Houston Healthcare’s Watson Campus.
The boy was found with a gun on him, police said. It was a Glock Model 20, 10-mm pistol with an extended magazine, or a large device for extra ammunition, police said.
There were also no lights on the dirt bike, police said. The sun had not risen by the time of the crash.
There were no students on the bus, only a 69-year-old driver.
The incident was still under investigation, but police determined the teen was at fault for the crash. Charges were pending.
