An autopsy by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation discovered that a Bibb County woman who died on Jan. 19 was the victim of a hit-and-run, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators initially though the woman, 43-year-old Priscilla Watson, was stabbed. However, a GBI autopsy revealed an impact wound consistent with that of a hit-and-run, the release said.

The woman was found in the 4900 block of Bloomfield Road, the same place where the sheriff’s office said they received a report of “an event” the day before.

The investigation has been turned over to a fatality investigator, but the sheriff’s office is still asking that people who may have seen the woman or who have information about the incident contact Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-CRIME.

They can also call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with a fatality investigator.
