Man fatally shot after ‘altercation’ in east Macon neighborhood, deputies investigate

A man was killed during a shooting in an east Macon neighborhood Saturday night, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators were told “an altercation” broke out before gunshots were heard around 11 p.m. in the 3900 block of Hattie Drive off Jeffersonville Road, a news release from the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies responded to the scene regarding a person shot. They found Kyle Alexander Brown, 32, “suffering from a gunshot wound,” the sheriff’s office said.

Brown was taken to Atrium Health Navicent where he was later pronounced dead. His family was notified of his death.

No arrests were made and investigators were still trying to determine who and how many people were involved in the altercation by Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.
