Two women were shot inside a KFC in east Macon Friday afternoon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies received a call around 2:30 p.m. regarding a shooting that injured the two victims at KFC on Shurling Drive and Maynard Street, Sgt. Christopher Williams told The Telegraph at the scene. The victims are 26 and 22 years old.

An ambulance was seen taking the victims to a nearby medical facility shortly after. One victim was in critical condition and the other was in stable condition by around 3:30 p.m., a news release from the sheriff’s office said.

“We’re pretty much working right now to figure out what led up to the shooting,” Williams said.

Crime scene tape was seen wrapped around the parking lot with around 10 Bibb County patrol vehicles surrounding the restaurant by around 2:45 p.m. The scene was still active at 3:30 p.m.

It was unclear if a suspect was arrested.
