Man arrested in Warner Robins over a Macon murder, sheriff’s office says
A Byron man was arrested after a recent alleged murder occurred in west Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting on Log Cabin Drive Sunday left 26-year-old Keshon Knolton dead, the sheriff’s office confirmed Friday. Knolton’s family was notified of the death.
A second victim was released from the hospital by Friday morning, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
James Louis Chappell, 24, was wanted in connection to the death, deputies said.
The sheriff’s office gang unit, investigators and the US Marshall Service arrested Chappell near the 100 block of Arizona Avenue in Warner Robins. It is unclear when he was arrested.
Chappell was taken to investigations headquarters, then to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
He was charged with murder, deputies said.
