Man shot, killed in a Macon home, deputies say. Sheriff’s office investigates death

A man died after a shooting in a Macon home Monday, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene in the 3700 block of Spencer Circle just after 3:30 p.m., a news release from the sheriff’s office said. They found a man in a home “suffering from a gunshot wound.”

An ambulance took him to a hospital where he later died, the sheriff’s office said.

The victim was identified as Jason Elliott Mitchum, 44.
