Bibb County deputies arrest 19-year-old after human remains found, officials say
Human remains of a person who went missing last year were found in Monroe County Wednesday, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The remains of the person, believed to be named Gabriella Dixon, were found near Highway 87 in Monroe County, Bibb deputies said in a press release.
Dixon was reported missing on Oct. 31, 2023.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to a 911 call around 11 a.m. from a construction worker on Highway 87 and Bowdoin Road, according to Anna Watkins, Monroe sheriff’s public information officer.
“Construction workers who were working in the area led them to a wooden area where human remains were discovered,” Monroe deputies said in a media release.
Jatarvius Deangelo Price, 19, was arrested Wednesday as a “person of interest” and faces a charge of conspiracy to commit murder. He was taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office just before 2:30 p.m., Bibb deputies told The Telegraph.
Bibb and Monroe deputies are working together on the case.
He was also arrested Nov. 17, 2023, and charged with making false statements and tampering with evidence. He made bond on these charges the next day.
Additionally, warrants for Reginald Harris were served today at the Bibb County Jail for the murder of Dixon.
The remains were taken to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to be “positively identified,” a press release said.
