Macon shooting leaves one woman dead, one injured, Bibb sheriff’s office says

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting death that occurred in the 800 block of Maynard Street over the weekend.

Just after midnight Sunday morning, deputies responded to a call of two females who had been shot. Deputies learned an argument had led to the shooting, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both women were taken to the hospital by a private vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.

Shooting victim Shantoria Hines, 28, later died from her injury, according to the sheriff’s office. The family was notified by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Marley.

The second shooting victim, who is 26, was in stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators were working to determine more about what led up to the incident. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
