Fire destroys apartment clubhouse on Corder Road

A fire destroyed the clubhouse of a Warner Robins apartment complex Monday night, firefighters said. The clubhouse at Corder Crossing Apartments at 750 Corder Road was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, according to a Warner Robins police report. Firefighters were dispatched at 7:23 p.m. No one was inside the two-story structure when the fire broke out, said Warner Robins fire Capt. James Franklin. The fire was contained by about 9:30 p.m., and no injuries were reported, he said.

Warner Robins fire Lt. Danny Williams said arson is suspected in the fire, which remains under investigation by the fire department and Warner Robins police.

Firefighters were dispatched two weeks ago to the complex when a privacy fence was on fire, Williams said. Also, firefighters put out brush fires in the area last weekend, he said.
