Man shot in upper torso near Macon doughnut shop

An unidentified man was shot early Sunday in the chest and ran into the Krispy Kreme Donuts shop off Spring Street about 6 a.m. for help, according to Macon police.

Sgt. Melanie Hofmann said the man wouldn’t give police his name or any other information about the shooting.

He was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia with a bullet wound to his upper torso, she said.“We don’t know where the shooting happened or who he is,” Hofmann said. “We can’t investigate or find out who is responsible until we get cooperation from the victim.”
