Crawford County convenience store clerk shot dead, man arrested for murder, cops say

The clerk of a Roberta, Georgia, convenience store died in a shooting Tuesday evening, according to a news release from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

Prishanda Gemisha Colbert, 40, died at about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday after she was shot at the Pleezing Food Store in Crawford County on Highway 80 West, the release posted to Facebook read. Colbert was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Randall Pate.

Ryan Lee Teal, 22, of Thomaston, was arrested by Upson County sheriff’s deputies on the same highway and charged with murder and armed robbery.

Other details were not available. The GBI is investigating the shooting.
