Macon man drove into oncoming traffic in one of two fatal crashes this weekend, cops say
Two men died in Macon this weekend after separate car crashes killed a driver and pedestrian, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.
The first death happened at about 9 p.m. Sunday when a car hit a pedestrian on Ocmulgee East Boulevard, according to a statement from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Sebastian Lee Hack, 19, died at the scene, deputy coroner Ronnie Miley told the sheriff’s office. Hack’s next of kin were notified. The driver who hit and killed Hack did not return to the scene to report the collision, the sheriff’s office said.
The second death came just after midnight Monday when a car drove the wrong direction on Interstate 75, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. The driver of a Toyota Prius drove south into oncoming traffic on the highway, eventually colliding with a truck head-on near Rocky Creek Road.
The Prius driver, who was unidentified as of Monday morning, died at the scene, according to deputy coroner Ronnie Miley. The truck driver was taken to a local hospital and listed in stable condition, the statement said.
