Macon man dead after pedestrian collision in the middle of Houston Road, police say

A Macon man died late Wednesday night after he was hit by a car on Houston Road in south Bibb County, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Terry Crump, 32, was standing in the roadway of Houston Road near Hawkinsville Road in south Macon at about 11:30 p.m. when a car hit him, the statement from the sheriff’s office said.

Bibb coroner Leon Jones said Crump died at the scene, according to the statement. Crump’s family was notified.

The driver of the Nissan that struck Crump, a 29-year-old man, was treated and released at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. No one else was injured in the collision. It was unclear in the statement if the driver of the Nissan was charged in the wreck, as the collision was still under investigation.
