An Americus man died Saturday after he was stabbed at a Perry apartment complex, officials said.

Terry Parker, 29, was outside the Berkshire Courts Apartments on Macon Road in Perry at about 8 p.m. Saturday when he was stabbed, according to a press release from the Perry Police Department.

First responders took Parker to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, the statement said. His family was notified.

Perry police arrested Angelique Deverouix, 45, in the killing and charged him murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during commission of a crime, the statement said.

Deverouix was arrested “within minutes” of police arriving at the scene, the statement said. He was held without bond at the Houston County jail.

The case was still under investigation and no further information was available, Perry police said in the release.
